Uncover Your Passion

"If you have a strong purpose in life, you don't have to be pushed.

Your passion will drive you there."

-Roy T. Bennett

What is Passion?

Passion is the driving force that propels individuals towards a life of fulfillment, purpose, and joy. It's that inner fire that ignites creativity, fuels determination, and brings a sense of meaning to our lives.

Passion is more than just a hobby or an interest. It's deep and genuine emotional connection to an activity, a cause, or an interest. It's the thing that makes you lose track of time, fills you with energy, and keeps you excited even in the face of challenges. While some people seem to be inherently connected to their passion, others often embark on a journey to discover their own.

Discover Your Passion

Sometimes your passion is lurking right in front of you and just needs an extra boost to uncover it. Below are a few ideas to help get you started.

  • Be Curious: Notice those activities that you're curious about. Perhaps you're curious about learning to quilt, taking acting classes, or playing an instrument.

  • Embrace Your Talents: Often, your passion is closely tied to your unique talents and skills. Notice what activities come effortlessly to you.

  • Try New Things: Explore a variety of activities and experiences which can help to uncover any hidden passions. Attend workshops, take classes, travel to new places, and engage with different communities. Each new experience can provide valuable insights into what resonates with you and what doesn't.

  • Notice Your Fear and Self-Doubt: Fear and self-doubt can be major barriers to discovering and pursuing your passion. You might find yourself worrying about the judgement from others or fear of making the wrong choice. Simply give yourself permission to explore without the pressure of getting it right.

  • Listen to Your Gut: Pay attention to how certain ideas or activities make you feel. What are you innately drawn to? What feels right to you?

"It is the ultimate luxury to combine passion and contribution.

It's also a very clear path to happiness."

-Sheryl Sandberg

Finding what you love is like a journey, not a one-time thing. It's not just about discovering it, but also about trying new things and being curious. Your passion comes from knowing yourself, what you care about, and what makes you really excited.

Don't worry about not having all the answers; it's okay to not be sure. Enjoy the process, face challenges, and celebrate the small wins. Your passion isn't fixed; it changes and grows as you do. So, keep trying new things, stay open, and let what you love evolve with you.
