Clarity is Power: 5 Ways to Get Clear on What You Really Want

Do you sometimes find yourself feeling stuck, uncertain, or perhaps pulled in too many direction?

I certainly know I have!

When we're unclear about what we want, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, doubt ourselves, or say "yes" to things that don't align with our needs and goals.

But truthfully: Clarity isn't a luxury---it's a necessity. Being clear on what we want and need is at the very foundation for our self-confidence, happiness, and overall well-being. Because, when we know what we want and need---everything changes.

Here are 5 simple ways to get clear on what you really want:

  1. Check in With Your Gut, Not Just Your Logic: Ask: "What feels true to me?" Your intuition often knows what your mind tries to avoid.

  2. Ask Better Questions: Instead of asking, "What should I do?" Ask: "What do I truly want?" What am I afraid to admit I want?" "If I trusted myself, what would I choose?"

  3. Look at Your Energy, Not Just Your Calendar: Notice what lights you up---and what drains you? Clarity shows up when you pay attention to what excites you, not what simply fills your time.

  4. Stop Editing Your Desires to Please Others: Wanting something different doesn't make you selfish---it makes you honest. Drop the guilt. Your needs and desires are valid.

  5. Take Small Aligned Actions: You don't need to know the full plan. Just take the next right step. Clarity often comes through movement, by taking just one step. Try it out.

    Coaching Questions:

    * What's one decision you've been avoiding that needs clarity?

*What would it feel like to stop guessing---and start trusting yourself?

    * Think of a time when you felt clear about your life. Perhaps it was a career, an activity, or something you really needed. What did that feel like to be certain and clear?
